Zeyneb Johnson

Zeyneb Johnson is an artist and writer who is interested in exploring all mediums including large scale pencil drawings, color pencil, acrylic paint, and ceramics. She uses her sketchbook for drawing things that come into her mind. In 2019, when joining the Starlight program, the subject matter for most of her art was memories of Ethiopia where she was born.

Zeyneb has created many paintings and drawings of her village, the animals, and the rich landscape. She captured the story of her youth in a book that she completed in 2021, entitled Zeyneb’s Story: A Memoir by Zeyneb Johnson .

Currently, Zeyneb is enjoying developing her skill with color pencil; her subject matter is often of fruits, plants and animals.
