Giving Campaign 2024
Celebrating 20 years in 2025!
Dear Starlight Studio Supporter,
Starlight Studio & Art Gallery opened its doors in August of 2005 as the first progressive arts studio in Western New York where artists with disabilities get support to make the art they want to make and have the option to display and sell their work in Starlight’s public gallery.
We have engaged in nearly 20 years of development and evolution; twenty years of experimentation and exploration; twenty years of discovery and maturation. The artists that practice at Starlight Studio have developed right along with the organization.
Every day at Starlight Studio is a chance to participate in the creative process, be in a supportive environment for learning more about oneself and the world, to learn about a new artist, meet a new member of the public, sell an artwork, visit a new site in the community among a multitude of other possibilities.
After close to 20 years Starlight Studio’s core remains the same…and always with room for exploration and growth. We have become a place for exhibitions of art by people with and without disabilities, a place to develop a cohesive body of artwork to display and sell, a place to write, a place to publish a book or a zine, a place to find support for nurturing an idea or concept, a place to explore all aspects of wellness, a place to become a working artist.
We remain thankful for being able to do this work in this vibrant place at 340 Delaware Avenue in Downtown Buffalo as well as at our studio space immersed in the Buffalo AKG Art Museum. As these locations continue to thrive, we look forward to beginning our partnership in January with Stitch Buffalo where the Starlight fiber artists will be immersed.
We love being a vital part of the Buffalo arts community. We are indebted to you and others for coming out to support us. Art is just not as great without an appreciative audience!
Thank you for being there for us. We hope that we can count on you to help push us into the next 20 years!
