Andy Calderon

Andy Isadore Calderon is a poet and visual artist born and raised in Buffalo New York. He refers to himself as “The Human Movie Projector” because he keeps his eyes open and is influenced by everyone and everything. Some of his accomplishments include being published in two poetry collections and (Dis) Integration. This has led to Andy achieving publishing his solo collection of poetry Livin’ God’s Crazy Dream. Andy’s visual work explores collage and painting. He often uses iconic cultural figures in his. He melds these with intense color using mixed media. Andy uses floral shapes, abstract forms and text. Andy’s involvement in the Self-Advocacy Community and beyond is a part of his major mission. Andy continues to develop himself as artist and is exploring acting in plays, and teaching workshops to children in schools on diversity. His message is “Ability rather than Disability”.
